📖 THE PLOT
The story takes us back to the final months of 1999 in the town of Haeseong. Eun Chae-ni is a fiery young woman who refuses to let a severe heart condition slow her down. Desperate to see the world but completely broke, she cooks up a wild scheme with her loyal, timid best friend Ro-bin and the neighborhood complainer, Gyeong-hun, to fake her own kidnapping and get ransom money from her wealthy grandmother.
But things go completely off the rails. During the fake heist, Chae-ni suffers a sudden medical emergency. In a blind panic, her friends try to hide her near a local dumping ground, completely unaware that the soil is contaminated with toxic chemical waste from an abandoned research lab. Instead of a tragedy, the bizarre chemical reaction revives Chae-ni and leaves the trio with a side effect they never saw coming: highly erratic, involuntary superpowers.
When they cross paths with Lee Un-jeong, a rigid city official who is secretly hiding powerful telekinetic gifts of his own, this accidental team of flawed heroes must learn to work together to stop a sinister doomsday cult and a mad scientist from destroying their home.
